Acceptable Use Policy

The rules that keep our network safe and reliable for every customer.

This Acceptable Use Policy, hereafter "the AUP", defines the rules that apply to all services provided by Cat Networks K.K., hereafter "Cat Networks", "we" or "our". The AUP exists to keep our network safe, lawful and reliable for every customer. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Illegal Use

Services may not be used for any activity that violates the laws of Japan or the laws applicable in the place where the service is used or its effects occur. This includes, without limitation, child sexual abuse material, content that infringes intellectual property rights, fraud, and the unauthorized sale of regulated goods.

2. Network Abuse

The following activities are prohibited on and from our network.

  • Denial of service attacks of any kind, including participation in booter or stresser services.
  • Unauthorized access attempts, port scanning of third-party systems without consent, and exploitation of vulnerabilities.
  • IP address spoofing and announcement of routes or address space without authorization.
  • Operating open resolvers, open relays, open proxies or other services that can be abused for reflection or amplification attacks, unless properly secured.
  • Distribution or command and control of malware, botnets or phishing infrastructure.
3. Email and Messaging

Sending unsolicited bulk email is prohibited. Mailing lists must be opt-in, must identify the sender, and must honor unsubscribe requests promptly. Header forgery and sender address falsification are prohibited.

4. Resource Usage

Services must be used within the resources defined in the applicable order. Activity that degrades the experience of other customers, such as sustained abuse of shared resources beyond the ordered capacity, may be rate-limited after notice where practical.

5. Customer Responsibility for Security

You are responsible for keeping systems under your control reasonably secure, including applying security updates and protecting credentials. Compromised systems that endanger the network may be isolated until remediated. We will notify you and assist with remediation where possible.

6. Resale and Third Parties

If you resell services or provide them to end users, you remain responsible for ensuring that their use complies with the AUP.

7. Reporting Abuse

Reports of abuse originating from our network are reviewed by our engineers around the clock. Please send reports with relevant logs and timestamps to [email protected].

8. Enforcement

Violations may result in a warning, rate limiting, suspension or termination of the affected service, depending on severity and recurrence. Where the violation creates an immediate risk to the network, other customers or third parties, we may suspend the service without prior notice. We cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
