We work hard to protect your information and put you in control.

Cat Networks K.K., hereafter "Cat Networks", "we" or "our", recognizes the importance of protecting personal information in the operation of its internet infrastructure and services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Scope and Compliance

Cat Networks complies with the laws and ordinances of Japan, including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the provisions of the Telecommunications Business Act relating to the secrecy of communications, and the Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Information in the Telecommunications Business Field. Where we provide services to customers in other jurisdictions, we also respect applicable foreign privacy regulations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide, operate, bill and improve our services.

  • Account information such as your name, company name, postal address, email address and telephone number, provided when you register or place an order.
  • Billing information such as invoicing details and payment records. Card numbers and similar payment credentials are handled directly by our payment processors and are not stored on our systems.
  • Technical and operational data such as IP address assignments, system logs and usage records generated in the course of operating networks and infrastructure. The secrecy of communications is protected under Japanese law, and such data is handled strictly within that framework.
  • Support communications such as emails and tickets exchanged with our staff.

Our website uses self-hosted, cookie-free analytics that does not profile visitors or track them across other sites. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we never sell personal information.

How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes.

  • Providing, operating and maintaining the services you ordered.
  • Identity verification, billing and collection of fees.
  • Responding to inquiries and providing technical support.
  • Sending service notifications such as maintenance windows, security advisories and changes to terms.
  • Preventing fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Complying with legal obligations.
Third Party Disclosure

We share specific information with third parties only to the extent necessary for normal business operation.

  • Upstream service providers such as domain registries, internet service providers and certificate authorities, when fulfilling your orders requires it.
  • Payment processors. Cat Networks works with the following payment processors to safely process payments, store payment credentials and prevent fraud. Their own privacy policies apply to the data they handle.
  • Public authorities when disclosure is required by law, such as by warrant or other binding legal process.

We do not disclose personal information to any other third party without your consent.

International Transfers

Where personal information is transferred outside Japan, for example to upstream providers or payment processors, we take measures required by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, including confirming that the recipient provides an adequate level of protection.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, such as tax and accounting regulations. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.

Security

Cat Networks employs industry standard safeguards, including encryption of passwords, TLS encryption for connections to our sites and systems, access controls based on the principle of least privilege, and logging and monitoring of access to personal information. All employees are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Your Rights

You may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of your personal information as provided by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. We will verify your identity and respond without undue delay. You may also close your account at any time, after which we delete associated personal information in accordance with the retention rules above.

Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered customers by email and announced on this page. We will never change this policy in a way that reduces the protection of personal information already collected without obtaining consent.
